Genesis II

This morning I listened to an episode about asking the right questions by Shaan Puri on My First Million podcast; yer sounds like cope, considering what this post is about. A question that struck me was, “While this may seem like the end, what if it’s the beginning of something? How would you feel?”. While I’ve always had an agreeable informal perspective of this, he clearly articulated it in a question. Well, here’s how I feel.

Today marks the beginning of my life’s work. Every thread has led to this point, and in camo shorts overlooking Holmenkollen - Oslo’s Olympic ski jump, I write this memoir, memento, or whatever you call that thing you look back on to remember a point in time.

Growing up in a business-savvy household running a bar and restaurant, I get a tinge of wasted potential over time. I feel like a part-time hypocrite when dishing out opinions on business to anyone asking. How about I swallow my own pill, hard.

All good things happen in July, and this July 2023, I left my job as a Senior Technical Product Manager at Uniform to become a full-time entrepreneur. In 2017 I left a project management job and transitioned to tech to build all the ideas I had. Those Chris and Ugwu wouldn’t help me build. It’s been a wild wild ride.

First-born coming from a chemical engineering background in Nigeria, I’ve been in short supply of either the right skills, money, or time to compete on a desired scale. Probably just excuses. This modified the mission from 2017 to 2023. I always stayed in pursuit of the right skills and money. Time, I had enough of, and still do, but definitely not as much. However, the vision stayed the same.

What’s next? Course-bro? AI-bro? Definitely building and sharing more about my journey growing Hackmamba. I started Hackmamba in early 2021 as a side project to help software teams create better product-focused technical content. I got tired of reading poor documentation and tutorials, plus I could only write so many as a sole technical writer. The vision stays the same.

I’m blessed to grow and work with genius technical writers and editors at Hackmamba at this time. I’m also blessed to watch everyone in the organization grow from noob to expert. Fatima running content operations, and Henry, leading marketing, have had my back all through this part-time phase. We’ve made mistakes, fixed things, and now building better together. Oh, I’ve also had incredible supporters, those I can’t mention yet, but thank you.

At Hackmamba, we’ve written 500+ content pieces since 2021 for a handful of partners and helped unicorns and startups drive revenue growth through written content. Proudly, we’ve paid over $150,000 to creators. Next, we’ll focus on helping even more software teams ramp up product adoption through better documentation and generate revenue through go-to-market content.

Quick shill, I’ll pay you $1500 for any referral you send me that signs. Email me

From traveling to 33 countries and countless cities collecting stories and experiences, I’m also working to fix mid-term to long-term co-living with Spacemates. Putting my software engineering and product management skills to good use there.

The next couple of weeks and months will be intriguing, starting today. I’ll spend much time learning, building a team, and improving my sales and software distribution skills. I’ll continue flying towards getting a private pilot license and, most important, enjoy this fantastic journey that’s just begun.

Periodically, I’ll share all this new knowledge. You can sign up for the Hackmamba newsletter here if you’d like to learn from my experience. I hang out on Twitter (X, yikes) or the Hackmamba Discord, so send me a DM. I’m available to teach or speak, depending on my schedule.

A life well lived is worth living. Will this be worth it? Well, for now, as the crypto-bros say, it’s either Lambo or MacDonalds.
